Important

-----------------
1. Despite every effort to provide accurate images of each product's color, actual colors may vary slightly due to photographic lighting sources or your monitor settings.
2. As vintage fabric has had a previous life and story, some may show very slight signs of small flaws and/or damage. We do our best to source fabric that is in great condition, however, please be aware that sometimes you may see these small remnants of your item's previous life.
3. Most of the garments we offer here are one-of-a-kind sourced from Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, and Kobe. Most kimono and obi have been kept carefully in individual family storage chests for some time so there may be a lingering storage scent. If there should be, please air the garment out in a well-ventilated room or outside with non-direct sunlight.
4.Due to recent events throughout the world, shipping has been very unpredictable. We are trying to make shipping as smooth as possible but sometimes it’s beyond our control. Please be aware of this before purchasing. Shipping status for each country changes all the time so please contact us before purchasing if you would like to find out your details for delivery time.

The Kimono (着物, きもの)
------------------------------------
was the form of dress worn in Japan until the mid19th century. Kimono have a T-shaped,straight-line fit. Kimono are wrapped around the body, always with the left side over the right, and are secured by a sash called an obi, which is tied at the back, A woman's kimono is traditionally very long as the additional length allows for the tuck that can be seen under the obi or obijime(sash), which is used to adjust the kimono to the wearer.

The Furisode Kimono(振袖) literally translates as swinging sleeves. The furisode is distinguished by its long swinging sleeves which usually measure between 85cm to 114 cm . Furisode, like other formal kimono, are mostly made from silk and are decorated in bright colors and elaborate patterns. Before WWII, only young unmarried women wore furisode,In the present day, however, furisode are by default considered to be formalwear and are generally worn for formal social functions such as tea ceremonies, weddings, and Coming of Age Day.
